Our homes from the start are designed to be energy efficient. The common person doesn’t realize Energy Star is a whole home program opposed to just a sticker on an appliance. In partnership with Energy Star, Meurer Development utilizes high efficiency windows, high efficiency and green insulation, ultra-tight construction, proper duct work insulation and ventilation, Energy Star labeled appliances and fixtures, water saving toilets and faucets. In addition to Energy Star, Meurer Development strives to incorporate as much environmentally friendly practices as possible. These practices range from recycling and reusing scrap material to incorporating solar, geothermal and wind energy into the project. In the majority of our homes, we install bamboo or cork floors, use non-voc paints, recycled concrete counter tops. Going green, like anything else can range from everything environmentally friendly to nothing. We try to balance practicality with being as environmentally conscious as possible.
